There was a National Day of Action against the NT Intervention on the 18th Nov in which Newcastle was a host to.

Rallies in Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Adelaide,Perth,Darwin,Alice Springs ,Lismore & Newcastle were held simultaneously.

The australian media blocked all the rallies bar Alice Springs & Darwin .These 2 cities are in the NT (Northern Territory).

The media made it appear as a local issue.

The Nt Intervention is a gov initiated "Emergengy Response" (the same used for natural disasters) to child abuse in the NT...just like USA's excuse to colonize Iraq is that it was looking for "a weapon of mass destruction"...

It is true that child abuse happens & it is truly across the board in all communities no matter what nationality it is ...

It just so happens statistics show that the highest proportion of perpetrators are aussie miners against our children in remote communities in the NT ...

This is an attack on our own Law as well as our men...the only media coverage of the intervention is gov media & they have demonized our men ...they are basically on a "witch hunt" singling out men with high status in our Law & targeting them as perpetrators. The have also outlawed ceremonial meetings in many communities.

The gov has enstated martial law or as they put it "an army presence" in 73 remote communities to fix the "aboriginal problem".The remote communities & communal areas in NT cities & National Parks are called "prescribed areas" in their terminology.

They have banned alcohol consumption for all aboriginal peoples in the NT in community prescribed areas with first time offence $1000 , trafficking alcohol constitutes a 1350 ml bottle in ones possession ,this is a $74,000 fine.

In the "prescribed areas" drinking alcohol in ones own home ia also against the law & federal police can raid ones home without a warrant & issue a $1000 fine ,in the street or communal/public area prescribed area in a city like Alice Springs a $100 fine.

In Alice Springs if aboriginal people are living in the city they can drink in their homes as this is not a prescribed area because it is a not exclusivley a "black" community.Though they will be fined $100 if they are drinking in public.

Alice Springs like many other places in australia is host to "black" & "white" pubs system though the gov never legistlated on this of course. One of these pubs is affectionately known as "the animal bar" by the white community.

Aboriginal people can drink in their "designated " pubs though they are served light beer till 12pm.Afterwards they can drink heavier beverages.These pubs sell alcohol after closing time though people run the risk of being fined.

The gov scrapped the CDEP aboriginal employment program federally & transferred all participants onto Centrelink (Social Security) payments in the NT.

All aboriginal people on Centrelink payments are being quarrantined 60 %financially by the gov.They are given food vouchers instead of that part of their pay. Even people who are employed with children in their care will be quarrantined of their family tax payment .A payment the gov gives to all families in australia.

They are in the process of becoming moneyless communities & the gov determines where they will shop & what for. It is said that with the new year the quarrantine will be 90% of their pay.

A new jail is being built in Alice Springs ...I guess for people who cant pay their fines because they dont have money?

This all started about 18 months ago with the dismantling of the Land Rights Act NT The act which enabled the aboriginal peoples in that territory to look after much of their own lands. In the meantime our former prime minister john howard nominated australia to be the nuclear waste dump of the world..can you guess where the designated the dumps are to be??????

THE NT.

The first process was to dismantle the act ...now anybody can go onto Aboringinal Lands without a permit, that includes mining corporations...they dont even have to negotiate with Traditional Owners as this has been quashed also by the gov...All rights over land have been quashed.The Racial Discrimination Act was even relaxed so that all of this could become a reality.

As a result the dumps are a done deal ...because Traditional Owners (TO's) are no longer an opposition it was easy to deal with aboriginal corparate groups as 'to seal the deal as the new TO's.

The NT is the home of most of the worlds uramium deposits...The gov is going to lease uranium opposed to selling it so that legally it can be brought back to australia.

There was a group of real TO's from the Mukaty community (the new dump site) who had led a national tour in opposition of the the dump.When they got back home the federal police raided their & their family homes & took their phones ,computers & documents. These people are afraid to speak out & even leave their community.

The gov has also has quarrantined computers brought by gov funds & also Centrelink benefits .They are to be given to the gov bi-annually.
Functions of local aboriginal organizations have been taken over by gov bureaucracy. Self Determination doesnt exist there anymore.

The community Mutijulu at Uluru (Ayers Rock) used to be a 1000 strong in population. It now has 200 people. The people have exiled over to the WA (Western australia) border to communities there.This is happening all over the NT ,communities are fleeing to the other states for refuge.

In Mutijulu the army has built tall fences around their community so that tourists cannot see the residents.

The "army presence" & federal police presence in the communities has been used to drive the people off their own lands...There was no call for the army as there was no uprising against the gov in any of these communities before the intervention.

A report "The Little Children are Sacred " has been issued to the gov to implement services in remote communities to support community in dealing with child abuse...its recommendation speak nil of martial law & apartheid.

NT remote communities have been left to waste & have been in third world conditions since their inception.The gov has avoided promoting community development in these places for decades. There has been many reports written their own community workers over the decades for all manner of improvement to the quality of aboriginal lives through proper services but to no avail.

This report has been the public excuse to invade, assimilate & re-colonize the peoples , steal the land & its resources.

Now with the new priminister the NT intervention is becoming the Federal intervention.

It will be alive & well within all of australian states within a couple of months..

Reports circulating in the Kremlin today state that an enraged President Putin has ordered Russian Foreign Ministry Officials to begin the processes needed for Russia to recognize the Lakota Sioux Indian Tribe as an independent Nation, and who have now broken away from the United States by renouncing their treaties with their occupiers, and as we can read as reported by the AFP News Service:
"The Lakota Indians, who gave the world legendary warriors Sitting Bull[pictured left] and Crazy Horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the United States, leaders said Wednesday.
"We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us," long-time Indian rights activist Russell Means told a handful of reporters and a delegation from the Bolivian embassy, gathered in a church in a run-down neighborhood of Washington for a news conference.
A delegation of Lakota leaders delivered a message to the State Department on Monday, announcing they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the United States, some of them more than 150 years old.
They also visited the Bolivian, Chilean, South African and Venezuelan embassies, and will continue on their diplomatic mission and take it overseas in the coming weeks and months, they told the news conference.
Lakota country includes parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
The new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free — provided residents renounce their US citizenship, Means said.
The treaties signed with the United States are merely "worthless words on worthless paper," the Lakota freedom activists say on their website.
The treaties have been "repeatedly violated in order to steal our culture, our land and our ability to maintain our way of life," the reborn freedom movement says.
Withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, Means said.
"This is according to the laws of the United States, specifically article six of the constitution," which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land, he said.
"It is also within the laws on treaties passed at the Vienna Convention and put into effect by the US and the rest of the international community in 1980. We are legally within our rights to be free and independent," said Means."
Putin's anger, according to these reports, is based upon the United States engineering of the failure of United Nations talks on the Serbian breakaway province of Kosovo which is seeking independence, and which, according to Russian experts, will lead to an 'uncontrollable crisis' throughout the Balkans.
Putin was reported to have told one of his top aides that 'two can play at this game', in an obvious reference to the American President whom President Putin blames as being behind the machinations to increase instability along Russia's borders with Eastern Europe.
Russian legal experts further state that of all of the United States Indian Tribes, the Lakota Sioux are the best positioned to have their declaration of independence from the American government recognized by the United Nations as they remain the only indigenous peoples in the US to have refused to accept payment for their lands, estimated to be nearly $1 billion, which they consider their 'sacred grounds' and have stated they would never relinquish.
It is, also, interesting to note that the Lakota Sioux are credited with one of the American Indians greatest defeat of US Military Forces in the Indian Wars by defeating the US Civil War Hero George Armstrong Custer and his Seventh Calvary in June, 1876 at the battle of Little Big Horn.
With these latest events, and with Russia as a potential new ally, one can only wonder if these long suffering and resilient Indians can once again defeat their age old enemies residing in the corridors of power in Washington D.C.
