Onze de setembre - La lluita continua

Un any més, la Diada, l’Onze de Setembre.
Els catalans commemorem l'èpica de la Nació Catalana, l'heroica però, a la fi, impossible resistència de Catalunya davant l’invasor – Espanya i França – l’any 1714; ens van prendre la llibertat per la força de les armes, dibuixant un regueró de sang per tot el nostre territori fins a liquidar les nostres institucions, assassinar la nostra gent, i malbaratar la nostra cultura.

300 anys després, resistim encara.

La Diada no és un dia de tristesa, sinó de festa, celebració, i reivindicació. Celebrem que, malgrat tot, malgrat l'opressió, les imposicions i les prohibicions, no han pogut esborrar del món la consciència d'un poble, la voluntat de sobreviure de la nació catalana. La nostra identitat, la nostra cultura i la nostra llengua s'han mantingut tan vives com l'anhel de recuperar les llibertats que se'ns van prendre.
La nostra història recent està marcada per la recuperació d'allò que érem. No obstant, la lluita continua.
S’ha d’entendre que l’Onze de Setembre els catalans no celebrem cap derrota, sinó que retem homenatge a aquelles persones que van sacrificar la pròpia vida defensant els drets de la seva terra, salvatgement aplanats per Espanya i França, en pro dels seus interessos. No és cap celebració, és un homenatge. Un homenatge que cal mantenir fins a la mort, perquè manifesta clarament l’esperit d’aquest poble, i això no es pot enterrar ni oblidar mai, passi el que passi.


La força de les armes estrangeres va anorrear els nostres drets, no el nostre esperit, i va esclafar tot el que era català. Avui, 2005, tenim encara la força a les venes que ens han fet hereus dels nostres avis, tenim la paraula i l’acció, sens dubte, armes perilloses.

No obstant, no tothom té clar quins són els nostres drets i deures com a Nació.

És per això que la lluita continua. I és per això que l’Onze de Setembre és un dia de celebració, també, de que encara tenim el cor i l’esperit de lluitar per allò que és nostre.

A year more, the "Diada" of Catalonia, on Eleven September.
We, the Catalans, commemorate the epic of the Catalan Nation, the heroic but, finally, impossible resistance of Catalonia in front of the invader - Spain and France - the year 1714; they took our freedom for the force of the arms, drawing a guttering of blood that travelled all our sacred land, until liquidated our institutions, until they murdered all our people, until they wasted our culture.

300 years afterwards, we still resist.

The Diada of Catalonia is not a day of sorrow, but of celebration, and claim. We celebrate that, despite these 300 years of persecution, in spite of the oppression, the imposition and the prohibitions, they have not been able to erase the consciousness of our Nation, the will of surviving from the Catalan Nation. Our identity, our culture and our language are still alive, as long as the claim for freedom and rights that they took.
Our recent history is marked by the recovery of what we were. However, the fight continues.

People need to understand that on Eleven September we, the Catalans, do not celebrate any defeat, but give homage to those who sacrificed their life defending our rights and our land, wildly stolen by Spain and France, in pro of its own interests.
It is not a celebration, it is an homage. An homage which is necessary to sustain until the death of the last of us, because it manifests clearly the spirit of our People. They can kill us, but they cannot bury our culture and our spirit. we will never forget.

The force of the foreign guns annihilated our rights, crushing all what was Catalan. Today, 2005, we still have the power in our veins that our grandparents have left us; we have the words and the action, undoubtedly, dangerous arms.

However, it is clear that not everybody recohnizes our rights and duties as a Nation.

That's why the fight continues. And that's why on Eleven September it is, also, a day of celebration, because we still have a strong heart and a clear spirit, to struggle for what is ours.
