Hey, does anybody remember what it was like to be a kid?
A few things I remember was how real the imagination and make believe was. When I was a kid, my friends and I would slay dragons Or we would ride imaginary horses over strange lands rescuing peoples (usually other imaginary kids) and kingdoms from the "mean, wicked ones."
I'm laughing, cause where I grew up, the Shining Mountains loomed large to the West, and on a hill, in front of the mountains, there sat a Catholic College (we didn't know that at the time) that was built like a castle. In my youth, my sisters and friends always saw that structure on the horizon as a terribly dark and ominous place - somewhere that was mandatory for us in our imaginations to rescue those who'd been captured. LOL
Geez it would be fantastic to be a kid again.
Anybody remember the imaginations of their youth? Feel free to share.
What does this have to do with where we are or where we are going? It has everything to do with it. Prairy

Wow! I remember wishing I was like other kids! And not always being looked at under a "microscope!" I did have an imaginary friend, though. She was like an angel that kept me sane and not affraid, when I was away from my parents for so long. I did not have any brothers or sisters,so I guess I made her up? Indigo

Hi Indigo, I hope you have recovered from the adverse reaction to your injection.
You wished you were like other kids? I wonder how many kids feel that way? Was it their physical attributes, clothes, or family life you longed to have? Not trying to get personal, just trying to figure out how other kids grew up.
You had an angel? That is awesome. I've heard of others having an angel. Can you help me to imagine her/him and describe the angel and how the angel interacted with you - such as talking or sharing or playing with you? Am curious as to why you were away from your parents for such lengths of time? You don't have to answer any of these questions if they are to difficult or invasive for you to answer.
My Mother was often left alone, and she developed a strong friendship with a mouse. Sounds strange, but it's true.
Blessings, Prairy

Prairy, Thanks, I am still a little weak. I had pneumonia on top of the reaction, but doing better. I guess what I mean is when I was younger I was sent to a special school for what some call "Indigo children." It was more like a lab experiment! My parents finally got wise to what it was really all about and took me out! Thank goodness they never signed me over so to speak! As for the angel.. I guess it could have been? Sometime it was a she and other times a male? All I know is that "they" were comforting to me telling me that I was strong and could handle any of their tests! Plus, they helped when I missed having my parents there. I was there from the time I was about 7thru13 almost 14years old. It is a ver long story. All I know is if someone(s) are interested in your child (ren) make sure it is not government backed! And really is in the interest of your child! Maybe, they were just a scared little girls way of coping with it all? Yet, they seemed very real to me me and everything they instructed me with helped to deal with the tests and the "school!" Strange huh? What they looked like? Like normal people as far as a physical form goes. We never talked verbally, always mentally. I will say it was if they had known me forever? And they always knew when I was scared or angry? The male was very tall with dark hair and dark eyes, somewhat intimidating for a kid and especially when you are still only 5'31/2"! But, I never felt affraid of eeither of them. Ya know I have always thought of them as one? I am not sure why? Opposite, yet the same? Indigo

Indigo, so sorry to hear you have had so many health problems. Yes, thank goodnes your parents never signed you off! I have more I want to post here about what you have shared and how so many kids these past few decades seem to have had their child hoods taken from them prematurely, but I will have to come back here tomorrow to share.
Blessings to you and yours, Prairyearth

Prairy, thanks, but it's pretty minor compared to others! And it always seems to help when your mother is staying with you haha! She made me say that, she has been here and reading some of the forum.
You are right many children do not have a childhood! I feel like I was one of the luckier ones! My parents always insisted on visits and weekends! Some just left their children there. Maybe they just couldn't handle them or what they could do?
I look forward to your post on this. My mother will be leaving Sunday, so I am going to see if I can get all the "home cooking" out of this I can, like her Sweet Bread or some call it Bannock! It's worth a try, especially since I am not a very good cook! I will look for your posts. Indigo

Hello and Greetings from the Prairie to Indi's Mom. You sound like a very good cook.
Indigo, forgive my lack of following through on these various threads. My own daughter and I have been "chatting" every day for the past few days and I seem to lose time..... Lets see, where was I....
Oh yes, Angels. Have you ever studied Angels? Malach, or Angels are messengers and guardian friends and I wouldn't think they are gender specific. Have you ever studied various artist descriptions of angels? From what I have seen, many angels have male names, with feminine looks. I never did understand that, except they must be gender neutral.
Interesting. Prairy

Hello, Prairy, I'm Shea's Mum and I'm an ok cook. She thinks anything that you don't microwave is home cooking!
Prairy, My "Mum" thinks microwaves are evil things! And I hardly ever call her mum anymore. I have not studied much about Angels. I am not sure if I believe it was an Angel? I think I meant they /it was more like protectiveness you would think Angels give! I will look up the types of Angels and see what I find?
I hope that your daughter is safe and will keep praying for her safe return home to her Mother and father! Please tell her she is never alone and there are those of us who pray for her and all of the soldiers to come home safely! Do you think that maybe they could have been something else or my imagination? Sometimes I wonder? Talk more soon. I have to put the little heart in for my mother! Indigo

Indigo, I hope you enjoyed all your Mum's home cooking!
As for the "Angels," it is to hard for me to tell if they were real or imagined.....this is something you can decide. If you believe these beings esisted/exist, then they are real, or as real as our human mind can comprehend them anyway. And if you think they were real, then I think they were real along with you.
I'd never tell any one any differently, as I have had my own expieiences over the years, and believe that although many things might seem highly improbable, nothing is impossible.
Yes, my daughter is aware that many are praying for her safty, and thank you for that. I think she will come out of there okay, however, the real work begins when these people return back home. They will need more prayers at that time more than ever, to help heal the physical, mental and spiritual wounds.
Blessings, Prairy

Prairy, I did enjoy all the cooking, probably way too much! I do think they were real,I'm just not sure if I think they were Angels? I am still speculating on what I think they are!
You are right the real work begins when they do come home! I know your daughter will be ok! she has a strong mother to help her thru it! pray they all will be that lucky! Tell ghostchild I have the article ready and just waiting to get it from my computer to his!
Hope all is well! Indigo

Geee ~ I kinna wish that I was a kid once again ~ except for some of the beatings that I received from nuns in Indian day school for being Indian ~ but the nuns made real good candy ~ and I love candy ~ they called it taffy ~ or something like that. I try and remember the good things the nuns did for us.
When I was little ~ I was able to dream of being whoever I wanted to be. I miss my granny the most. When I was little she looked after me for almost five years and right up to when she passed away. As I grew into my teens ~ us reserve boys would play cowboy and Indians ~ jumpers ~ no one ever wanted to be the Indians ~ lol. I always wanted to be Wyatt Earp ~ but a reserve kid ~ who was bigger than me ~ played Wyatt Earp. So I got to be the Rawhide Kid. We would play in the woods behind our reservation. Those woods are still there but we hardly ever go there to visit anymore as adults ~ maybe one day I will talk a walk in those woods.
Also ~ I'm a very good cook. I just love to cook ~ and my favorite is ~ lemon pie ~ but it has to be made with Shirriff's Pie Filling ~ for whatever reason ~ that pie filling taste good ~ lol. Also ~ I cook a great moose stew with potatoes, turnips, a little cabbage, carrots, and at the end ~ I make doe boys or dumplings ~ I hope I spelled doe boys right ~ or is it dough boys ~ lol. Also my potatoes turn out golden brown ~ yum.
Prairyearth- 03-21-2007
Threefeathers, I think those woods are beckoning you to return. Say hi to the birds that live there when you go back and visit. They love to be recognised and noticed.
Okay now, time to fess up......are you willing to share the ingredients to Sheriff's pie filling? That Moose stew you cook sounds absolutely fantastic. WE have no moose here, but the way you described the dish, it sounds enticing. Prairy

Thanks for your kind words ~ and I hope to return one day to those woods ~ gosh ~ I only live 5 hours away from those woods.
As for the Shirriff lemon pie filling ~ sigh ~ it comes in a box by Dr. Oetker ~ lazy am I ~ I have the box in front of me ~ kinna lazy way to make pie filling ~ smile. And as for the moose ~ we have plenty moose over here in Eastern Canada. Burrrr ~ but it's kinna cold outdoors this morning.
Back to the lemom pie filling ~ a little corner of the box says ~ Melange pour garniture a tarte au citron et pour dessert ~ wow ~ excuse my poor French cause I really do not read or write French ~ but I think it says something like ~ putting something together to make a lemon pie for dessert. I do know this much ~ yum ~ it taste good.
