I am re-posting these rules here for the public to see, as I am perplexed as to why a gift of tobacco shipped to Canada from here in the states was tariffed, as it was a gift and all US taxes paid from this end. It was not a large sum of tobacco. It included 1 small bag loose leaf tobacco that wieghed somewhere in the amount of 8 ounces, and 2 packs of "Little Cigars" that must have olny weighed and ounce or two or less, and cost $9.00 US dollars to purchase - so why was this Gift tariffed $30.00 ?
